It is an innovative biometric face verification product that accurately compares two facial images to determine their similarity in 2 seconds. By analysing facial features, expressions, and other relevant attributes, Smile ID’s Face Comparision API reliably assesses whether the two images belong to the same person.

The SmartSelfie™ Compare product facilitates fraud prevention with world-class compliance standard precision by comparing selfie and liveness images taken by a user against an image on an existing database or ID authority record. Why SmartSelfie™ Compare?

We developed SmartSelfie™ Compare to address three primary challenges: to fight fraud and prevent unauthorised access, to improve the current prevailing 2-step authentication process and to provide an API for partners with existing ID authority access or images on file to perform face compare.

By analysing facial features, expressions, and other relevant attributes, the API determines the likelihood of a match between two images, replacing the current 2-step authentication workaround where partners do enrollment and immediate authentication. Partners with existing user images on file can simply leverage the face compare API to compare the two images for a match.
